With the ever-improving technology and use of sensors, attempts to utilize the new technology in various areas to improve the quality of human life have been made. The health care sector is slowly but steadily adopting technology. People in need of health care services find it very expensive, this is the case for developing countries like Uganda. As a result, this project is an attempt to solve health care problems currently being faced in society today. The main objective of the project is to assemble a remote patient monitoring system. It will comprise of three main parts. The first being, detection of patient’s vitals using sensors, second is analyzing and sending data to cloud and last part was providing the detected data for remote viewing over the dashboard of the IoT monitoring platform. Remote viewing of the data enables a doctor or guardian to monitor a patient’s health progress anywhere away from hospital premises. The internet of things (IOT) concepts has been widely used to interconnect the available medical resources and offer smart, reliable, and effective health care services to patients. Patient monitoring can use the IOT advantages to improve patient’s lifestyle. In this project, we have presented an IOT architecture customized for health Care applications. The aim of the project is to come with a remote patient monitoring system that can be made with locally available sensors with a view of making it affordable if it were to be mass produced. Hence the proposed architecture collects the sensor data through Arduino microcontroller and relays it to the cloud where it is processed and analyzed for remote viewing over the clouden_US
